I'm so upset right now. I know to anyone else they're just thinking "oh you're being a big baby!" But nobody really understands how bad smells effect me. While growing up my aunt would smoke in her car and I would push my head out the window because it bothered me SO MUCH. And she would just tell me I was being a baby. (because everyone wants to breathe in smoke am I right? I had to live in a house where the person would smoke inside, every day with awful imported cigarettes. When I go and visit my eyes start burning and I get flem in my throat in about 5 minutes. I'll wake up the next morning feeling sick.

So we had this really annoying neighbor next to us. He'd play loud music where ALLLLL the neighbors could hear. He was so thoughtful. Well he just moved in EVEN closer to us. The next wall over!!! And i was already thinking MAN I can't wait for him to start playing his music!! But today I was taking a nap because I had a headache and I wake up to this horrible gas smell. Like gas stove gas smell. And already I'm annoyed as hell because 1) I have a headache 2) I'm sensitive to smoke and 3) I have the AC on so opening up the windows is a giant hassle (having to turn off the AC and then back on later because its too hot to not have it on) etc etc!! And going for a walk is pretty much death because its been extra hot lately. WELL since I'm already hurting from having a headache....having gas fumes seep into my apartment and then invade my entire living room really didn't help.

So I sat there in pain and REALLY ANNOYED because I don't know what to do. I HATE talking to people. And I mean I HATE IT. If you only knew the pain I go through when I have to call cable services or order pizza on the phone. So the idea of going over to my neighbor and asking him to move his BBQ over and away from my appartment just makes me feel ill. I opened up my windows and turned on the fans but this place has such bad circulation that it doesn't help even a little bit. So I go for a walk so I can BREATHE and as soon as I come back and open the door the smell hits my face like a ton of bricks.

I honeslty can't take bad smells. I wish i could just deal with it. But its like if someone was pushing you agaisnt a wall and not letting you move. I don't know how else to make someone understand how sensitive I am to it.

So really. I just can't wait for him to start playing his music loud and sit out on his porch so he can play his guitar!

Now my throat is sore. yey also I've had this happen a lot but I'm not asking for advice. I needed to vent and only want some sympathy or your own stories which show you understand my pain.

I completely understand, and sympathize! I get terrible migraines, and when I do even the slightest STRONG smell will drive me crazy. My EX-EX (The infamous RACHEL, as Momo might remember) was cooking SHRIMP and BACON once... and I actually cried over the phone to a FRIEND, and it became a constant topic of mockery.

Having a strong sense of smell is bad enough, but when a pungent smell is particularly unpleasant, NOXIOUS even since it seems like this smell was from a flame accelerant, it can be downright unbearable.

Do you get nauseous when you get headaches? I seem to remember you saying once that you got migraines.

Oh man, Garlic KILLS ME when I have a migraine. The smell, the taste. Urghhhh.

Anyway, it sounds like you had a migraine. The only thing that helps me when I'm feeling sick from one is caffeine, and some aspirin. But I've been trying not to take so much aspirin lately. Another good remedy is CARBS. Lots of them. But the sensitivity to smell never seems to go away.

Might I suggest THROWING BRICKS at them?
